OH MY GOD!

Is that your official diagnosis?” the God on the couch asks the psychologist examining him. But what is most striking about Israeli author Anat Gov’s divine comedy is not that the Almighty comes to visit, but that he is not at all sympathetic.

Are there tricks or miracles going on during this extraordinary therapy session between a disgruntled patient (who happens to be the Eternal) and a psychologist specialising in learning problems? Can what has been ruined for the last few thousand years be solved in one session?

In this play with a unique tone, using a strange basic situation, we can laugh at ourselves and at the (good?) God at the same time… if we dare to laugh.

A celestial being comes to earth for treatment with the intention of putting his ‘life’ right – but why now, why he comes here, and whether he will be cured… oh God, we won’t tell you yet. First of all, discretion: the psychologist is bound by the psychologist’s oath… But who is he sworn to? By God?
