ANDRÁS BORGULA’S SOLO EVENING

The Taurus tyre factory was opened in Budapest in 1975. It seems one less interesting by comparison, but that was the year András Borgula, founder and artistic director of the Gólem Theatre, was born. But if we tell you that the director of the only Jewish theatre in Hungary didn’t even know he was Jewish for years, things get more exciting. He has photographic evidence to support this and many other stories! And he says his life is so interesting that he is happy to tell others about it. And, of course, he thinks he does it well. And, of course, he thinks it’s entertaining.

He thinks that the way he found out he was Jewish, or the way he moved to Israel, or the way he was a soldier, or the way the Jewish theatre was founded, is a cabaret. Now we will find out. The public can also listen to this personal testimony, illustrated with photos from the family photo album (we’ve seen and heard it: he’s been talking for the last 15 years, now you listen!)
